The conference will be composed of several types of contributions  with different requirements and restrictions regarding the length, time allocation and content.

All the paper contributions will be peer-reviewed. Final copies of the accepted contributions should be sent in due time in order for them to be included in the Conference proceedings book. The proceedings will be widely available in both electronic and printed form in the Springer series Lecture Notes in Computer Science.

  • All submissions must adhere to the Springer LNCS format.
  • Submissions must be made through the EasyChair conference system prior the specified deadline (all deadlines refer to Pacific Standard Time – 11:59pm)
  • At least one of the authors should register and take part at the conference to make the presentation.

POSTERS AND DEMONSTRATIONS – MARCH 8, 2013 CLOSED

Poster and demonstration papers (3 pages) are original and unpublished accounts of innovative research ideas, preliminary results, system prototypes or industry showcases. Demonstrations are an excellent way to showcase implementations of prototypes and commercially available products at the conference and to receive feedback from the conference audience. Posters and demonstrations will be published in the main LNCS Springer proceedings of UMAP 2013. They will be presented at the poster reception. Valid formats are a single slide of about 24″x36″ (ISO A1) or alternatively up to 9 ISO A4 slides.

LATE-BREAKING RESULTS –  APRIL 19, 2013 CLOSED

Similar to poster and demonstration papers, late-breaking results (6 pages) contain unpublished accounts of innovative research ideas, preliminary results, system prototypes or industry showcases. In addition, we welcome project posters: short papers (3 pages) that introduce newly started research projects or that summarize project results. Late-breaking results will be published in the online extended proceedings of UMAP 2013 hosted by CEUR-WS. Posters will be presented at the poster reception. Valid formats are a single slide of about 24″x36″ (ISO A1) or alternatively up to 9 ISO A4 slides.
