------New Publication Agreement for the GD Proceedings----
Dear Graph Drawers,
We are pleased to announce that the Steering Committee of the
International Symposium on Graph Drawing and Network Visualization and
Springer have entered into a new agreement about the publication of the
conference proceedings. The agreement will allow the members of the GD
community to freely access all the GD proceedings on a website that will
be set up soon. In addition, Springer will make freely available to
anyone all the conference proceedings four years after their publication.
Some details are below. In what follows, "GD community" means any
registered users of GDNET plus other users authorized by the GD Steering
Committee.
Free Access
- The content of the past GD proceedings published in LNCS, going back
to GD 1994, and future proceedings will be made accessible to GD
Community members via the GD Website.
- After four years upon publication of a proceedings volume, Springer
shall make the content of this proceedings volume freely accessible to
anyone. In addition, within the next three months Springer will make
freely accessible to anyone the content of the GD proceedings which were
published at least four years ago.
Usage Rights and Eprints
- Authors retain the right to use his/her contribution for his/her
further scientific career by including the final published paper in
his/her dissertation or doctoral thesis, provided acknowledgment is
given to the original source of publication. Authors also retain the
right to use, without having to ask, parts of the contribution (e.g.
illustrations, tables, paragraphs, etc.) for inclusion in future work,
and to publish a substantially revised version presenting new content
elsewhere, provided that the original contribution is cited properly.
- Authors may self-archive and make available an author-created version
of his/her own contribution on his/her own Website and on his/her
employer's Website, including his/her final version (as submitted to the
conference or workshop after the reviewing process). The author or the
GD Steering Committee may archive and make available the same on
non-commercial archival repositories such as ArXiv/CoRR.
Term of the Agreement and Termination
- The agreement will remain in force until December 31, 2019. For all GD
proceedings published under this new agreement the free accessibility is
perpetual and irrevocable. The GD proceedings volumes published under
this agreement begin retroactively with the GD 2014 proceedings (LNCS
8871) and are expected to include also the GD 2015 through GD 2019
proceedings.
Best regards,
Beppe Liotta
